FAQ

How will the additives in the oil help me?

There are several answers. Oil additives improve lubricity, thereby reducing stress in areas where friction occurs. They reduce temperature, emissions, increase performance, extend life and reduce fuel consumption. The lower the friction, the less stress and wear on the engine.

What oil can I add Megalon to?

Megalon was developed for use in almost all types of motor oils, so it does not matter in which oil you use it (synthetic, semi-synthetic and mineral). Follow your car manufacturer's instructions and specifications when choosing a suitable oil.

Is MEGALON suitable for use in low displacement engines?

Yes. Especially in small engines, the use of Megalon is of great importance. Although these engines are agile, there are more and more concerns about their service life, as they usually have to run at higher speeds and have higher volumes of load than larger engines to achieve comparable performance.

Is it ekological?

Yes. All Megalon products meet strict standards and contribute to environmental protection.

Why is classic cheap diesel not enough?

Cheap diesel from non-branded filling stations may not be of good quality and may gradually clog the fuel system and car engine with higher amounts of deposits. Particularly sensitive to this are modern diesel engines, where deposits can even affect the function of the nozzles and clog the filters faster than usual. We recommend refueling the basic fuel at some of the branded filling stations and increasing its quality with the fuel additives Megalon D + for diesel and Megalon B + for petrol.

Will fuel additives extend the life of the filter?

Unfortunately, we do not know which filter you have in mind - whether fuel or oil. Fuel additives are primarily cleaners. This means that they release and wash away deposits and dirt. After the first application, the fuel filters will be clogged more than usual. This is normal, because Megalon washes away existing dirt and it is trapped in the filters. Therefore, after the first application and consumption of about 200 liters of fuel, we recommend replacing the fuel filter (but this is not a condition, it depends on the contamination of the filter).

What effect does Megalon have on the DPF (particulate filters)?

MEGALON fuel additives improve combustion and we know that better combustion means less deposits and less emissions. We know of cases where users who use MEGALON periodically have achieved more than 75% longer service life of the DPF filter than the service life originally declared by the manufacturer.

Do fuel additives affect starting?

Yes. Although Megalon D + and B + fuel additives are not primarily anti-freeze, they eliminate water from the fuel system, which has a significant effect on freezing. It also cleans nozzles and ignition plugs. The combination with oil additives increases the effect even more.

Do oil additives affect engine life even during cold starts?

We know that it takes about 8-15 seconds from the start before the oil reaches all the necessary places and starts lubricating. Additives to motor oils Megalon C + create a protective microlayer with perfect slipperiness on the metal contact surfaces, and thanks to it the engine is immediately "lubricated" and immediately protected against excessive wear even during cold starts and subsequently during the entire operation.

I can't decide between Megalon Motor and Megalon C +, what's the difference between them?

These two ingredients differ significantly in their composition and, ultimately, their effectiveness. MEGALON MOTOR contains a microceramic lubricant and friction modifiers and the size of the microceramic particles is about 2.5-3 microns. If a filter finer than 4 microns is used, these particles could be trapped in it. Then we recommend using MEGALON C +. However, these very fine filters are very rare and only apply to industrial use. They do not use these fine filters in cars (cars and trucks), so if you do not mind the difference in price of about 10%, then feel free to use a more efficient MEGALON MOTOR.

Do fuel additives damage the seals?

No. New and regularly changed seals according to the vehicle manufacturer's recommendations will work correctly with fuel additives. In older cars or machines, where the seals are not changed regularly, a seepage may occur after the application - a slight leakage of lubricant or fuel through the seals. During its use, microcracks begin to appear in each seal, into which deposits (usually carbon) enter. If the deposits do not clog these microcracks, the seal may not seal sufficiently. Older seals in many cases seal only due to these deposits and it is only a matter of time before they reach the end of their service life. So this won´t suprise you, we recommend applying Megalon fuel additives in an increased dose before changing the oil, which will clean the engine and the entire fuel system. After changing the oil and seal, everything will be fine.

Is it true that the engine can work without oil, ie only with Megalon?

Yes, it's really happening temporarily. We call it operational security. If MEGALON is already sufficiently incorporated into the surface (ie after applying Megalon you have covered at least 500-700 km), the engine or machine can still work for some time even if it loses oil, without getting stuck. The driver of the vehicle or the operator of the machine will thus gain valuable time to reach the service or eliminate the fault.

I have heard the argument that oil additives are not needed in oil.

This is the opinion of a small group of people, mostly lay people in the field of tribology, or people who do not follow the latest research and trends in the field of tribology, where the latest development is very rapid. The fact is, however, that the European Commission restricts the use of many additives (additives intended for base oils, SAPS ...). These are compounds (sulfur, phosphorus, etc.) whose use in oils is limited because they are harmful to the environment and form undesirable deposits. By applying MEGALON Motor or MEGALON C +, you increase the lubrication efficiency and at the same time contribute to the protection of the environment.

At the last tribological conference, trends in the future development of lubrication were clearly identified, which determine one of the important goals to increase the slipperiness of metal surfaces. In the end, up to 26% of total emissions are said to be caused by transport (although passenger transport does not play the most important role in this).

What are oil additives and how do they differ from additives?

Classic additives are known as substances that are added to the base oil. Their ratio and composition then determines the purpose for which the particular oil will be used and what properties it should fulfill. Such mixing of the base oil with the respective types of additives also produces, for example, oils for petrol or diesel engines, oils for gearboxes, etc. The oils are thus balanced, and if we add other additives to them, we could upset this balance. However, Megalon oil additives act as "metal surface conditioners" that do not change the properties of the oil. Therefore, the balance is maintained and only the metal surface itself is treated, which then better resists wear.

I have heard the argument that the oil already contains all the additives and there is no need to add anything. Is it true?

This argument is mainly used by oil sellers when they want to emphasize the quality of their oil. The fact is, however, that today there is enormous pressure on the price of products, not excluding oils. Unfortunately, few oil manufacturers admit to you that the difference in the quality of the base oil between individual manufacturers (we mean branded oils) does not differ much. The difference in quality is made, among other things, by additives that are added to the oil. Of course, the more quality additives the oil contains, the more expensive it is. If we can recommend it to you, be sure to follow the oil specification recommended by your car manufacturer and add a quality additive to it. Then it doesn't matter the brand of oil used and you will significantly extend the life of your engine. However, we do not recommend adding various additives to the oils that will "improve" the oil.

However, if the only criterion for the customer is price, then we must openly state that our German manufacturer will not give up the high quality of the product at the price of replacing some components of the product with cheaper but less effective, only to achieve a lower price.

Is it worth buying MEGALON fuel additives?

Yes. The cost advantage lies in the yield. The 500ml package will last you about 800-1400 liters of fuel (depending on the concentration of use). Some competitors additives (for fuel) cost "only" CZK 200, but they are applied only up to 100 liters of fuel. In order to achieve the yield of 500 ml packs of MEGALON with such additives, you would have to buy about 10 bottles of them, and in the end it will cost you more than CZK 2,000, not to mention a low level of efficiency.

Why are your products more expensive than others?

There are several answers. Our German manufacturer is not willing to compromise on efficiency and replace some product components with cheaper substitutes. The second reason is that all products are produced exclusively in Germany and production will not be relocated to cheaper countries such as Asia in the future. The third reason is that the manufacturer invests considerable funds in the continuous development of products. The last reason is that all our products are undiluted concentrates. If you then calculate the yield of the concentrate, you will find that the price is no longer so high. In tribology, it is doubly true that what was modern 5 years ago is usually obsolete today. In return, you can count on us to always get top quality from us without compromise.
